At India Power, we believe in walking and growing together with all the people we serve, in an ambience of mutual trust. And the engine that powers that trust is CSR or Corporate Social Responsibility. India Power’s CSR approach is focused on sustainability, and creates business value by factoring in the social and environmental impacts of conducting business. In Financial year 2019-20 India Power introduced Annual Signature CSR initiatives which have left its footprints in serving the society in the fields of Women Empowerment, Skill Development & Community upliftment, Education, Environment, Support to nationally acclaimed sports, upliftment of art and artisans of Bengal to preserve our age old culture & heritage and health. The initiatives introduced are Ananya (Empowering Women), Project Shakti (Skill Development & Entrepreneurship), Happy Periods (Women’s Health & Menstrual Hugiene), Medha (Education of Girl Child), #giftgreen (Environment), Adibashi Football Protijogita (support to Nationally acclaimed sport), Rarh Bangla Karigari mela (Saving art and artisans of Rarh region of Bengal) and Swastha Samriddhi (Healthcare) besides other initiatives involving infrastructure and rural development, providing safe drinking facilities, industrial training, scholarship to meritorious students. All these activities have been designed with the primary objective to handhold the society at large. Besides the usual CSR initiatives, during the lockdown period due to Covid-19 outbreak, team India Power stepped forward to provide the most important basic need, food, to the needy people residing in and around its operational region.
2020 has brought along a global distress in the name of Covid-19 pandemic. As the world was making wishes on the New Year’s Eve, it was unknown to one and all what was kept for them in near future.
On March 24, 2020, the Indian Government declared a nationwide lockdown for 21 days which was later on extended till May 30, 2020, with the objective to flatten the coronavirus spread. However, in this situation people of the grass-root level are the worst affected as they are completely jobless and therefore are struggling for the primary and basic need of life, food.
India Power has been instrumental in touching lives and bringing smiles in the lives of people as it has always considered itself to be a People’s company with the primary objective to grow as the society grows. India Power believes in serving the community to the best of its abilities and in this time of crisis, it has stepped forward to serve the needy.
Team India Power has distributed food items to the people in need within its licensed area in Asansol-Ranigunj belt. The Power Team has been directly involved in this noble task.

Event
India Power marked its 103rd foundation year in a more humane way than ever. With blessings from all of our well wishers, the star studded event we had organised on 3rd July 2021 in Asansol, was a great success. All the three CSR initiatives have been appreciated by senior government authorities, dignitaries, distinguished guests and the media. Initiatives of the day:
- Suryoday: Financial support to families who have lost their primary bread earner/earners and help them to stand up on their own feet.
- Kalyan: Handing over a well-equipped Ambulance to MLA, Pandabeswar
- Bikash: Launching of Project Wings, a skill development program to create an avenue for the differently-abled youths from Asansol region to become financially independent.
The initiatives were implemented in the august presence of our Chief Guest Shri Amarnath Chatterjee, Chairperson of Board, Asansol Municipal Corporation, Shri Naren Chakraborty, MLA, Pandbeshwar and other public representatives and representatives of the state administration. We wish to continue the journey towards a sustainable smart utility which is not possible without a sustainable society and environment.
